BOWLING GREEN, Ky.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Ophthalmologist and taxpayer advocate Rand Paul has surged to a 21 point lead in the Republican Primary for United States Senate, according to a new independent poll released today. The survey, conducted by Magellan Strategies, shows Dr. Paul with a commanding 44-23 percent lead over establishment candidate Trey Grayson.

The poll also shows that likely Republican primary voters hold a 67 percent favorable opinion of the Tea Party Movement.
